Built by a streamer who got tired of losing VODs to music.
StreamHush exists for one reason: copyrighted music is the number-one thing that gets streamers struck, muted, and demonetized — and reacting to it by hand never works. By the time you notice a song, alt-tab to the mixer, and hit mute, 15 to 60 seconds of it is already in your VOD. That is plenty for a fingerprint scanner.
It started as a tool the founder built for their own streams after one too many close calls with a track that started mid–team-fight. It runs entirely on your machine, fails safe, and only ever acts on a real match — because nothing matters more than keeping your channel alive.
How it actually works
- On your machine. Audio is processed locally; only short samples are sent to the recognition service to identify a song. Your stream is never recorded or stored.
- Reacts in about two seconds. A local detector catches music the instant it starts and mutes the source, then a fingerprinting engine confirms the exact track.
- Only the music. It mutes the one OBS source you assign to music — your microphone, your voice, and your game audio keep playing untouched.
- Fail-safe. A network blip or an API hiccup can never take your stream offline. It is built so the worst case is that it does nothing, never that it breaks your broadcast.
What we believe
Your stream never leaves your hands
Processing happens locally on your computer. We never record or store your broadcast.
It mutes the music, never your voice
Only the copyrighted music source is touched. Your mic and everything else play on.
Fail-safe by design
It can never crash your stream or take you offline — proven under real outages.
An honest note
No software can make a legal promise on your behalf, and we will not pretend otherwise. What StreamHush does is remove the exact trigger — copyrighted music reaching your stream or VOD — that gets the vast majority of streamers struck. You stay in control, with a full log of every track it caught.
